Dragon Ball FighterZ fans will likely be in for a treat now, since Bardock and Broly, the game’s first two DLC characters, have been added to the game today. While they’re movie exclusive, both characters are some of the franchise’s most distinct, and will likely bring a lot to the game.
Broly is a recurring villain in the Dragon Ball movie universe, harboring an irrational hatred of Goku (seriously, the reason he hates him so much is because Goku cried constantly and Broly was in the crib next to him). Seen by some as the Super Saiyan told of in legends, Broly appeared three different times before being permanently killed, but was brought into the main canon in the form of Kale, who was part of Universe 6’s team in the Tournament of Power in Dragon Ball Super.
Bardock, on the other hand, is Goku’s father, a Saiyan warrior who attempted to stop Frieza from destroying the Saiyan homeworld of Planet Vegeta, only to fail and die along with the rest of the planet. The act left the Saiyans an endangered species, with only Goku, Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz (and a few movie-only Saiyans) as survivors.
Bardock and Broly also have fairly different fighting styles compared to one another. Fitting with his unstoppable rage, Broly favors getting up close and personal with his enemies, but his enormous size makes him slow and his damage output isn’t as high as you’d think.
Bardock, on the other hand, is a much more rounded fighter, with normal dashes and attacks that are more in line with his various family members. He also has a Super that can quickly close range on his opponents, and a fast start up on his special moves that can keep him from being interrupted.
You can pick up Bardock and Broly on every platform that Dragon Ball FighterZ is available for, today.
