A new offer has been rolled out in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds today, celebrating the game’s first year since its Early Access launch. PUBG Corp. is rewarding all players with a Free PUBG SCAR-L Skin, right after the introduction of the weapon skins feature on the test server.
The Free PUBG SCAR-L Skin is a variant for the basic desert colored SCAR-L weapon, baring yellow and black colors with “#1” and “Winner, Winner Chicken Dinner” logos. Undeniably, this is a cool weapon to own even if every SCAR-L you see from now until the skin feature officially rolls out will bear the same skin.
The official announcement for it on Steam, along with a heartfelt message from the developers regarding the game’s first anniversary reads:
A lot of things have happened in the world of PUBG in the last year. On the 23rd of March, 2017, we launched on Steam Early Access and so many of you have joined us in the best Battle Royale experience out there. Throughout our journey, we went from a pre-alpha build that only a few select players knew about to one of the most popular games in videogame history.
We achieved this only with your support and generosity! It’s hard to express the kind of gratitude we feel for our players. For some things there are no right words.
But as a small token of that gratitude, we’re giving away a free anniversary weapon skin. Anyone who logs into PUBG, until the May 1st week maintenance, will get the Year One – SCAR-L

Weapon skins are PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ latest feature to be introduced on the test server bringing two new loot boxes: Triumph and Raider. The Triumph chest is a random weekly one, requiring a key to be opened and 10% bonus drop rate while the Raider chest is a classic random PUBG chest set at 10% flat drop rate.
