New Avengers: Infinity War Posters Split the Cast (One for Each Infinity Stone)

The road leading to Avengers: Infinity War has unearthed five new posters for the superheroes that will be standing against Thanos and his Dark Order.

The trailers released so far have confirmed that the impending invasion will split everyone into different teams, tasked with defending key locations as well as protecting the Infinity Stones. The new posters accentuate this divide-and-rule setting by highlighting the cast with the colors of the ancient, powerful relics.

The first poster features Iron Man, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and Wong; who will join forces on the frontlines in New York City. The second poster features Black Widow, Hulk, Black Panther, and Okoye; who will join forces during a large-scale battle in Wakanda. The third poster features the Winter Soldier, Captain America, Shuri, Mantis, and Nebula; who will also be present in Wakanda. The fourth poster features the Scarlet Witch, Vision, Falcon, and War Machine; who will attempt to protect the Mind Stone. The final poster features Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy; who will hook up in deep space after the Asgardians are ambushed by Thanos.

The ever-elusive Soul Stone is missing here as well and there should have been a sixth poster to drop a hint at the very least. The last remaining Infinity Stone should surface in Avengers: Infinity War and there are already several fan-crafted theories about where it will be. Whether it will be hiding inside Wakanda, with Iron Man, or the Quantum Realm; you can take your pick until the confirmation arrives.

Avengers: Infinity War, in many ways, will be all about Thanos. TheĀ storytelling will delve into his origins, almost sympathetic reasons for causing destruction, and more. The highly anticipated movie will not just be about a supervillain in search for power to subjugate or destroy entire worlds, a synopsis that has surfaced far too many times in recent years.

Avengers: Infinity War will open in theaters on April 27, 2018. The untitled sequel, presently dubbed Avengers 4, is slated to premiere on May 3, 2019.
