PUBG PC Update 8 To Introduce Region Lock, New Loot Crate, Bug Fixes And More

Region locked matchmaking has been asked of the PUBG Corp for quite some time and it seems that we are getting it with PUBG PC Update 8 which will effectively implement the region based matchmaking and will introduce a new Triumph crate to the game.

According to the developers, the irrelevant regions for the players will be removed and they will only be able to play in another region if they team up with a player from an exclusive server region. The devs noted that the PUBG PC Update 8 is available for the test server and once tested, it will be online for the live servers.

These servers will be made invisible to players residing in other regions. But, at the same time, if a player in an exclusive server region forms a team with a player from another region, they can connect to and play on any of the servers available to either of them.

Aside from the region based matchmaking, the PUBG Update PC update 8 will also bring weapon skin system, new Triumph crate which has resulted in changes to the drop rates for the crates. The following are the new drop rates for the loot crates.

  • Survivor: 10%
  • Wanderer: 10%
  • Biker: 20%
  • Desperado: 10%
  • Militia: 20%
  • Fever: 10%
  • Triumph: 20%
