Konami has announced that a new Zone of the Enders 2 remaster is going to be coming in September, and they did this via posting a graphics trailer, which showed a comparison between the original game, its 2012 re-release, and its current MARS edition, which will include 4K graphics and first-person VR mode.
Zone of the Enders is a series that was produced by Hideo Kojima. Players took control of a mecha that went by the name of Jehuty (after the Egyptian god of wisdom, who also goes by Thoth) as they fought other enemy mecha in a wide-open aerial space with a huge number of different weapons available.
While the games were originally only mediocre sales hits despite a great deal of praise, they have since become a cult classic, enough to get two different remasterings, and there have often been rumors of a third game (that have yet to materialize). While the Zone of the Enders 2 Remaster doesn’t appear to include the first Zone of the Enders game, the fact that Zone of the Enders 2 is getting a graphical update, along with a first-person VR mode, is definitely something for fans of the games to celebrate.
From what we can see in the new graphics trailer, the MARS edition of Zone of the Enders 2 definitely provides a step up in graphics. The game’s lighting is better, and its models are much more detailed, with much more anti-aliasing along with a higher framerate. With the higher power of the Playstation 4 to go along with it, you couldn’t ask for a better platform (aside from PC) to play the game on.
The Zone of the Enders 2 remaster “Zone of the Enders 2: The 2nd Runner MARS” will be available to play on the Playstation 4, Playstation 4 Pro, and Steam this September, so if you’ve been looking for a bit of awesome nostalgia, this game might be just what you need.
