Sea Of Thieves is an Xbox exclusive that has launched for both Xbox One and Xbox One X. A smooth frame rate is important for a console game and we are here to do a Sea Of Thieves frame rate test and see if the game is able to keep a stable FPS on both Xbox One and Xbox One X.

In the video below, courtesy of VG Tech, both Xbox One and Xbox One X versions of te game are being tested for their frame rates and let us see if Xbox One and Xbox One X are able to keep a stable FPS.

First up is the Xbox One version of Sea Of Thieves and while the game is able to maintain a steady FPS most of time but, we do see FPS drops to 26 FPS in certain scenes like swimming underwater.

Aside from that one instance, the game also sees FPS drops when a scene is too crowded and the bullets start flying around which results in much more particles effects being rendered and causes the FPS to drop.

However, apart from that, the game doesn’t lose any FPS and the frame pacing on the Xbox One is also very great resulting in a smoother gameplay experience.

Now as for the Sea Of Thieves frame rate test on Xbox One X, there are instances where the game drops below 30 FPS and given that power of the console, it is surprising that the game is locked at 30 frames per second.

The Sea Of Thieves frame rate test for Xbox One X version of the game reveals that the FPS drop occurs at the same locations where Xbox One version saw FPS drops. This might indicate that these particular areas are quite taxing on both systems and need to be fixed with a patch.
