With the public premiere of Avengers: Infinity War waiting to happen in about a month, a few lucky individuals from the industry are being given the opportunity to receive an exclusive screening in advance.
Taking to Twitter earlier today, director James Gunn revealed that he has just watched the final cut for the first time. The only thing he is willing to share in regards to his experience is that the movie is an “incredible” take and will leave the audience surprised.
Gunn, having helmed the first two installments, is currently busy with Guardians of the Galaxy 3. It is usually not pointed out but he also filled in as an executive producer for Avengers: Infinity War and worked closely with the Russo brothers to bring the Guardians of the Galaxy characters together for the highly anticipated project.
He is not the only one that was brought in for collaboration. Other directors from the Marvel Cinematic Universe were also involved with Avengers: Infinity War. This includes Scott Derrickson for Doctor Strange, Ryan Coogler for Black Panther, Taika Waititi for Thor, and Peyton Reed for Ant-Man.
Hence, it is understandable if the remaining directors also start taking to social media platforms in the coming days to relay their own thoughts on the movie. There are likely going to be more praises sung until the premiere night.
Avengers: Infinity War will open in theaters on April 27, 2018. The untitled sequel, presently dubbed Avengers 4, is slated to premiere on May 3, 2019. Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will being production early next year and is slated to open in theaters somewhere in 2020.
It was reported yesterday that advance ticket sales for Avengers: Infinity War have gone past Black Panther for the first three days of pre-sales. If the numbers generated so far offer any indication, the box office should be getting ready for a brutal awakening next month.
