It is hardly surprising to know that advance ticket sales for Avengers: Infinity War are running through the skies. What is surprising is that the highly anticipated movie has left Black Panther far behind in the process.
According to a new report from CBR earlier today, advance ticket sales for Avengers: Infinity War have already set a new record. This is just weeks after Black Panther did the same by toppling Captain America: Civil War (2016) from the top spot in pre-release ticket sales.
AMC Theaters opened up ticket booths for Avengers: Infinity War before the weekend began. In the following three days, advance ticket sales went past Black Panther by 257.6 percent for the same duration. In another comparison, the numbers are ahead of The Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) by an astonishing 1106.5 percent.
There is still more than a month remaining before the premiere night. Suffice to say, the new record set in terms of pre-release ticket sales will be monstrous.
Avengers: Infinity War will be the nineteen installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and culminate all eighteen prior releases to date. The highly anticipated movie is already expected to dwarf any milestones set by Black Panther. If the numbers generated so far from ticket sales offer any indication, the box office should be getting ready for a brutal awakening.
It should be noted that Black Panther took just twenty-six days to earn more than $1 billion worldwide. How many days do you think will it take for the upcoming new installment to reach the same glorious threshold?
Avengers: Infinity War will open in theaters on April 27, 2018. The untitled sequel, presently dubbed Avengers 4, is slated to premiere on May 3, 2019.
