New Twitter Emojis for Infinity Stones Add Confusion for Avengers: Infinity War Plot

It is only probable that everyone knows about the Infinity Stones by now and how Thanos will be launching an invasion in Avengers: Infinity War to obtain them all.

The weekend saw several users discover that Twitter has officially released new emojis for three of the six Infinity Stones. This includes the Space Stone, Mind Stone, and Time Stone. The respective hashtags correspond to those who were last seen possessing the ancient and powerful relics. Hence, the Space Stone brings about an emoji for Loki, the Mind Stone for Vision, and the Time Stone for Doctor Strange.

In all honesty, the emojis may not be what everyone was hoping for. There were expectations to use actual depictions of the stones themselves. However, considering that they mostly look the same outside of their respective color palettes, the character portrayals may have been a better alternative.

Thanos is more or less confirmed to obtain three or four Infinity Stones at best in Avengers: Infinity War. The anniversary trailer for the Marvel Cinematic Universe from last month suggested that the Mad Titan would procure four in total, leaving just the Time Stone and Soul Stone.

On the other front, the two official trailers for Avengers: Infinity War have confirmed that Thanos will be putting the Space Stone and Reality Stone in his Infinity Gauntlet during the events of the upcoming movie.

It is strange that Twitter did not release an emoji for the Reality Stone and also that it did release one for the Time Stone, especially because fans theorized that the Time Stone would remain with Doctor Strange until the second part releases. In addition, the recent trailer for the movie showcased everyone guarding Vision in Wakanda. It appears that Thanos will indeed be breaking through their defenses to obtain the Mind Stone.

Avengers: Infinity War will hit theaters on April 27, 2018. The untitled sequel, presently dubbed Avengers 4, is slated to premiere on May 3, 2019.
