Shadow Of The Tomb Raider Trailer Breakdown – Rumors And Speculations, Release Date

Square Enix recently announced the climactic finale in the Tomb Raider reboot franchise, Shadow of the Tomb Raider. This is the conclusion to Tomb Raider’s story and we are expecting it to be the most climactic and the best one of all the series yet. So far, Square Enix has only shown a short teaser trailer with a full reveal of the game scheduled for Apr. 27, 2018. The game was announced just before a day when the movie based on the game was about to hit the theaters.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider – What We Know!

The timing of Square Enix was just perfect to excite the fans even more for the franchise. We have broken down the teaser trailer and tried to extract as much information about the game as much as possible for you right here.

We also have some rumors and speculations about the last entry in the franchise which is surely going to get you all hyped up about the conclusion of this epic reboot of Tomb Raider. You can check out the teaser trailer for the game below.

Trailer Breakdown

The teaser trailer is only 20 seconds long but it seems to show a lot about what we can expect from the full game. The trailer starts with a solar eclipse forming and Lara running through a dense jungle which shows that the game will have quite a bit of jungle action and she seems to be clearly running from something chasing her.

During this jungle-running scene, we can clearly see that Lara has her bow, arrows and the pickaxe with her. This means that she will be retaining most of her other items from the previous games as well. The only enemy type shown in the teaser is a man who looks like a mercenary or a member of a militia belonging to an organization because his uniform as some sort of a symbol on his right arm.

This could mean that some group of mercenaries or militia is chasing Lara and they are after the same treasure that Lara is seeking. If you pause at this frame and look closely in the background, a shadowy figure of Lara’s bow appears which could only mean one thing that Lara is about to take this guy down with stealth. This shows that the game will have stealth elements as well.

We also get a short glimpse of Lara climbing a huge rock, which again has been a common thing in the previous games as well so we can look forward to some great cliff climbing with our trusty pickaxe. Later Lara is shown standing inside a dark cave with a big temple ahead. The temple appears to be belonging to the Mayan civilization.

The temples shown in the trailer plus the last shot, where we can see Lara standing before a Tomb with many people around it, it could mean only one thing that Lara has stumbled upon something epic like discovering a whole hidden civilization, maybe? We can only confirm this when we get some more information about the game on Apr. 27, 2018, however, until then, we will love to think all sorts of possibilities.

The ending scene in the trailer also has a solar eclipse in the background, which was also something that used to be big in Mayan civilizations. The temple, solar eclipse and many people around it can only possibly lead to the discovery of a completely hidden Mayan civilization.

Release Date

Surprisingly, we have a confirmed release date for Shadow of the Tomb Raider right from the start. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is slated to launch at September 14, 2018, which is only 5 months after the initial reveal of the game. Like previous titles of the series, which were timed Xbox exclusive at launch, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is not going to follow the same path.

It will be available to all major platforms right from the start including PS4, Xbox One and PC with added support for next-gen 4K consoles PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. This has made fans of the series quite happy, as previously anyone other than an Xbox player had to wait for quite some time to play this epic franchise. We do not have a word on whether there will be a Switch port or not.

This is all what we have on Shadow of the Tomb Raider at the moment. We are eagerly awaiting for the full game reveal on April 27 and are looking forward for some actual gameplay video. We would love a demo allowing us to play the game early but it seems like Square Enix will let players experience the game early on select events in the future.
