ASRock has introduced its Gemini-Lake Powered J5005-ITX Motherboard, however, interestingly the ASRock J5005-ITX Motherboard won’t be using the cheap Celeron J4005 but will feature relatively expensive Pentium Silver J5005 chip.
Compared to Celeron J4005, Pentium Silver J5005 chip features quad-core “Goldmont Plus” CPU along with a higher-performance UHD Graphics 605 iGPU which obviously features higher clock speeds.
As for the other specs for this ASRock J5005-ITX Motherboard, it features two DDR4 SO-DIMM slots which support up to 8 GB of RAM. It also features PCI-Express x1 and an M.2 E-key slot along with HDMI 2.0, D-Sub, and DVI display ports. Furthermore, it features 4 USB 3.0 ports and 8-channel HD audio.
As for the price tag, ASRock has not revealed it yet but, given that the chip itself is around $160 we speculate that ASRock J5005-ITX motherboard will cost around $200 – $225.
Also, this is not the only Gemini Lake powered ITX motherboard as recently ASUS announced Prime J4005I-C which is powered by Gemini-Lake Celeron J4005.
This ASUS Mini ITX Motherboard features 2 cores with 2 GHz base clock and 2.7 GHz boost clock, 4MB cache, Intel UHD 600 graphics, and a 10W TDP.
