It’s almost been a week since the last Nintendo Direct and already, Nintendo is on track with their next showcase. As the company announced, they’ll be hosting the Nindies Showcase Spring 2018 on March 20th, announcing new titles as well as giving more information to already revealed ones.
Nindies Showcase is a special show hosted by Nintendo, celebrating indie games by announcing them on its consoles. Nintendo Switch has already had its fair share of indie games with more to go as time goes by. We have the chance to get indies like Star dew Valley, Celeste, Shovel Knight and Darkest Dungeon with more awaiting release soon.
Last week, Nintendo has announced Undertale as a new addition to Nindies but we only got a teaser trailer for it, so we expect more information to pop up on Nindies Showcase Spring 2018 too. What else would we want to see though? We made our expectations go wild and picked some indie titles that deserve a spot in Nintendo Switch’s library:
Any Supergiant Title (Bastion, Transistor, Pyre)
When it comes to indie games, Supergiant Games is the studio that first comes to mind. All three titles: Bastion, Transistor, and Pyre are extremely well optimized and would be a perfect fit for Nintendo Switch. Pyre alone could be a cool multiplayer title to try with your friends while Bastion and Transistor would offer that chill experience from your couch, enjoying that awesome soundtrack.
This is a hard one. We know that the game is exclusive on Xbox One regarding consoles but one could always hope right? Microsoft seems to be getting along just fine with Nintendo when it comes to cross-play so why not share an exclusive and get into Sony’s eye? We’d definitely want to play Cuphead on our Switch, right after Dark Souls though so that we know we won’t break our console after all those death scenes.
Nex Machina is another title we’d love to see on Nintendo Switch since its gameplay reminds us a lot of other similar titles on the console. Developer Limited Run Games has already announced they’ll be making games for the Switch, however, they revealed that Nex Machina will be available only on PC and PlayStation 4 for various reasons. Those two may be contradictory but we’d love to see it happening.
Limbo / Inside
Both games were announced last year for the Switch but since then we haven’t had any progress. If one of those titles would be close to getting a spot on Nindies Showcase Spring 2018 then it will be those two. Both fit perfectly Switch’s theme and would accompany The Fall and Typoman in our library.
FTL Faster Than Light
One might wonder, how could FTL fit Switch? It’s almost unplayable without a mouse. Yeah, that might be true but Nintendo Switch has something that PC doesn’t have and that’s a touchscreen. Bearing that in mind, playing that sadistically hard strategy sci-fi game would brighten our day.
Which indie game would you want to see announced for Nintendo Switch? Do you think any of those would be showcased in Nindies Showcase Spring 2018?
