Skills and Traits

Passive Ability
Witch-Hunt is Victor’s Passive Ability for the Witch Hunter Captain class. With this ability, all the enemies that you have tagged with receive additional damage (20%) in combat. It also eliminates all cost for blocking light attacks coming from the front side of Victor.

Therefore, you can block all light attacks while facing an enemy without any blocking cost. This is a great ability if you get surrounded by a large number of enemies which is the case in most of the situations in Warhammer: Vermintide 2.

Most of the enemies when up close will use light attacks from the front and normally you will lose a good deal of stamina just by blocking that attack.

With the bonus of this ability called Eternal Guard, however, you will preserve all that stamina, as the frontal attack blocks will not cost you a single drop of stamina.

The last bonus of this ability called Killing Shot, is that any critical hit headshots will instantly kill all enemies that are man-sized. Meaning the enemies that are similar in size to Victor, will instantly die if you manage to hit them with a critical headshot.

Career Skill
The Career Skill for Victor in the Witch Hunter Captain class is Animosity. With this skill, all nearby allies will get an instant boost to their critical hit chances for straight 6 seconds.

This is a major duration considering the fact that some of the other heroes already have critical hit enhancing skills.

Combined with this skill and the result turns out to be a huge boost with critical hits resulting in huge damage boost. It takes a decent enough time to recharge so use it carefully.

All these attacks also get an added advantage of knocking back enemies with this ability.

The knockback is great for keeping enemies at bay and avoiding being surrounded by them. This coupled with Critical Hit boost helps eliminating large hordes of enemies quickly and that too from a safe distance.

It also compliments the Passive Ability of Victor. You get a Critical Hit boost as well as Critical Headshot boost so even if you miss the head and hit another critical part, you will instantly kill the enemy, as the boost is insane.

Witch-Hunt

Witch-Hunt is Victor’s Passive Ability for the Witch Hunter Captain class. With this ability, all the enemies that you have tagged with receive additional damage in combat.

The last bonus of this ability is that any critical hit headshots will instantly kill all enemies that are man-sized. Meaning the enemies that are similar in size to Victor, will instantly die if you manage to hit them with a critical headshot.

Animosity

The Career Skill for Victor in the Witch Hunter Captain class is Animosity. With this skill, all nearby allies will get an instant boost to their critical hit chances for straight 8 seconds.

Templar Rapier

For melee, the best weapon for this build is the Templar Rapier. It features 156 power and will cost 3 stamina per swing or hit.

The reason we are using this weapon with this build is because it further reduces the block stamina cost by 22% so when the frontal attacks are not costing you a thing to block, using this weapon will reduce block costs from other side attacks by 22% as well, thus greatly reducing your stamina consumption during combat.

It also has 14 Critical Power so the Critical headshot boost and Critical Hit boost works very well with this weapon. Any critical hit will have an additional 14 damage as well as the ability boost to it. This will turn your weapon into a sheer enemy executioner while saving much stamina.

Flintlock Pistols

Coming to a ranged weapon, the weapon you want with this build is the Flintlock Pistol. It features 140 power and a single clip can hold 20 bullets which is a decent amount of ammo before you need to reload it.

It also comes with a 10% critical hit boost which further adds up to your Passive Ability boost and the Career Skill boost in each scenario. Go for the one with the Imperial Pistol Illusion on it.

The whole point of this build is to conserve stamina and use critical strikes as much as possible. Both the weapons that we have selected for this build are based on these. They will help you conserve stamina and use critical boost damage as much as possible by adding to the boost themselves.

Since the pistols come with a very limited ammo of just 20 bullets, there is a little trick to have infinite ammo. When you have your melee weapon equipped, you can use your alternative attack to shoot from your pistols and it does not use any ammo. You can use this anytime you want and it works pretty well.

It will take out most anything right in front of you unless they are huge or armored. The best part of this attack is that they will not use any ammo and you can still shoot from your pistol. It is not too quick but it still have a decent speed.

Your main weapon with this build will be your Rapier as it features a decent block as well. Keep your pistols for backup and use them when you are certain that the enemy will be dead in one shot.

Builds

Builds are what determine your playstyle. According to the need of the situation and the way you want to handle it, you can customize your Witch-Hunter Captain’s Build.

In any case, we’ve outlined below some of the builds that are commonly useful for this career.

Horde Focus Build
This build centers around dealing maximum damage to horde mobs and clearing them out.

For this build, you need to use the Level 10 talent, Flense and Level 20 talent, Heretic Sighted. With Flense, you get to deal hefty damage to all units, mainly to the cleavable Horde Mobs.

On the other hand, Heretic Sighted boosts your attack speed, helping you a great deal in controlling crowd.

For weapons, your best bet is to pair this build up with a melee weapon like Flail, Falchion, Two-Handed Sword, Rapier, Axe and Falchion or Billhook and any range weapon of your choosing.

Elites Focus Build
This build focuses on dealing more damage to Elites and eliminating them with your high headshots. The Passive Ability of Witch Hunter Captain perfectly complements this build, making it easier for you to take down Elites.

For this build, you need to use the Level 10 talent, Deathknell and Level 20 talent, Wild Fervour.

Deathknell allows you to deal great amount of damage in all conditions and it specializes in single target DPS while Wild Fervour proves pretty handy in tough situation when you’re up against multiple Elites, boosting the damage dealing ability of your whole squad.

For weapons, it is recommended that you combine this build with a melee weapon like Axe, Rapier, Axe and Falchion or Billhook and any range weapon of your choice.
