Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Markus Mercenary Build
Below you will some vital information on the unique passive ability and career skill of the Mercenary class. We have detailed some information along with tips and tricks that will help get the most out of these abilities.
We have also listed which weapons you should use for this class, which will help you in making this the best Mercenary build for Markus around.
Markus specializes in crowd control, which makes him super effective during scenarios where the enemies are coming in great numbers. The weapons he prefers are mostly two-handed and can wipe out more than two enemies in a single blow. He is a good team support and damage dealing hero.
Paced Strikes is Markus’s Passive Ability for the Mercenary class. With this ability, if you manage to hit three enemies in a single swing of the weapon, you will be granted 10% increased attack speed for 6 seconds.
Your attacks also have increased cleave affect through enemies as your weapon can easily penetrate to more enemies. It also gives you an increased chance of landing a critical hit. You can continue to hit three enemies repeatedly and this timer will keep refreshing back to 6 seconds.
For utilizing the cleave bonus, you must have a two-handed weapon like halberd or which is long and can easily damage multiple enemies in a single swing.
Hitting 3 enemies with any sort of weapon is not very difficult if you prefer melee combat and the enemies normally tend to surround you. If you have a long weapon like halberd or, you can easily hit more than 3 enemies in the single swing. This ability counters the slow attack speed of these longer weapons.
Markus’s Career Skill for the Mercenary class is the Morale Boost. It is a party based skill and it will benefit all allies around you. When activated, it will stagger all nearby enemies and grant your allies a temporary health boost.
The stagger is great because it gives all your teammates a chance to attack enemies around them easily without the worry of the enemies attacking back.
In some situations, you will not be able to swing your longer weapons, in such situations; this ability will come in handy, as it will stagger all enemies around you giving you a chance to get in a better position to hit them back. You can stagger them back, charge up your power attack and then hit three of them to quickly get the passive bonus. This will make you get back in the battle quickly.
The health boost works well during tricky situations as well. If you see an ally being surrounded by enemies and have low health, quickly get to them and use this ability.
This will give them a temporary health and will stagger all nearby enemies making it easier for them to take them out while they are still at the ground. This staggers even bigger enemies like Rat Ogres and Chaos Spawn.
White Wolf Hammer
The best melee weapon for this build is the White Wolf Hammer. It is a two-handed hammer and can easily take out many enemies in a single hit. It can also break shields and has exceptional crowd control making it one of the best weapons to use in tight situations where enemies surround you.
It has 71 power and each swing will cost 3 stamina. It will also give you a +1 stamina boost and +4.6% attack speed thus somewhat countering to the slow attack speed of this giant hammer. The reason why we want to use this hammer and not any other sword or halberd is its shield breaking property.
You might be swinging you weapon in a group of enemies to kill them but it suddenly stops in the middle just because a rat is holding a shield. This hammer will counter that with its shield breaking property and will easily break any shields help by the enemies.
It also features two overhead attacks, which are great against armored enemies. If you manage to hit someone in the head with this axe, it is highly doubtful that they will survive even a single blow. It is one of the only weapons that can stagger the berserkers.
For the ranged weapon, you will want the Imperial Repeater for this build, which is a Repeater handgun. It is a big gun and it features shield breaking as well.
It also has a decent ammo capacity, which makes it all the time worthy for this build. Try to find the one with the 4% Critical Chance and +11 Critical Power. It features 71 power, has insane amount of fire rate, and offers great versatility.
You will not want to use this as your main weapon. Keep this as your secondary weapon and always use the power attack to unleash a volley of bullets onto oncoming enemies in a straight line. It will make short work of them. It lacks accuracy due to which we do not recommend using it as your main weapon.
