Today, we will tell you everything we know about Super Smash Bros Switch. Everything from when you can expect the game to what the game.

Smash Bros is just one of those games that may not be able to garner a huge following, but those who do end up playing it for longer periods are usually obsessed with it and fully support its cult. The game has had a massive following regardless of whatever platform it has been on, but the fact that Super Smash Bros Switch is soon going to be released on Nintendo’s brand-new console is reason plenty for players to rejoice.

Today, we will tell you everything we know about Super Smash Bros Switch. Everything from when you can expect the game to what the game will be like is mentioned here so that you have a pretty good idea of what to expect before the game hits the shelves.

What We Know About Super Smash Bros Switch

Super Smash Bros is one of the staples of Nintendo. There has been an iteration of the game released for pretty much every single major console.

Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo Switch
The game is famous for having characters from not only multiple Nintendo franchises but also third-party franchises such as Final Fantasy. Therein lies the appeal of the game, as you can be whomever you want from multiple games and take on anyone from your friends to random strangers.

Is Super Smash Bros Switch Even A New Game?

There does not seem to be a definitive answer to the aforementioned question. In the press release by Nintendo, the language is quite vague as to whether Super Smash Bros Switch is an entirely new game or just a port of the game to the new console. There have been many other Wii U games which were simply ported to the Switch and Super Smash Bros Switch could just be one of those.

That would not necessarily be a bad thing though. Nintendo might not be always on point with the consoles, but their games are extremely good. The Wii U version of Super Smash Bros was not any different and it would definitely be good with us if they did decide to simply port the game over to the Switch.

The 3DS version was much more successful and sold close to 10 million copies so there is also a chance that the 3DS version of the game is ported over to Switch rather than the Wii U version.

Characters

The reveal trailer does not seem to give away a lot of information, does it? Most of the characters are seen only in the form of their shadows. However, we do get to see Mario and Link. Of course, it is almost a guarantee that Mario and Link will be in any Smash Bros game so that was not really a surprise.

However, what did really surprise us was the fact that we got to see two different inklings from ‘Splatoon’. These characters are brand new to the series so it will be definitely be interesting to see how they play out in the grand scheme of things. Even though we only got to see the shapes and silhouettes of other characters, it is still not that difficult to guess who they could be.

Super Smash Bros. Switch Announced
The shapes which we are absolutely sure about are Bowser, Pikachu, Marth from Fire Emblem, Samus from Metroid, Kirby, Pit from Kid Icarus and Donkey Kong. Apart from this, there were many other characters who we are not entirely sure about, but we can expect characters from many franchises such as The Legend of Zelda, Pokemon and Earthbound.

Release Date

The actual release date of Super Smash Bros Switch has not yet been confirmed by Nintendo. However, they have told us that the game will be released in 2018. This means that there is less than 9 months left until we get to see the Super Smash Bros franchise on the Switch.

It is almost guaranteed that this is the main game that Nintendo will be releasing this year, and this quite an impressive feat considering the fact that there will be new ‘Yoshi’ and ‘Kirby’ games released by Nintendo in 2018 as well.
