Sony’s upcoming biker zombie survival game Days Gone has apparently been delayed to 2019, according to a statement by Sony to Gamespot. The game was supposed to come out this year, though there wasn’t any indication of exactly when the game would come out. The Days Gone delay has made it release in 2019.
Days Gone mainly focuses around the biker named Deacon, who struggles to survive along with other survivors in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse. The game was first unveiled at E3 2016, showing off the tech of its zombies (which are almost World War Z-like in how they flood towards the player and can easily overwhelm anything you throw at them.
Shuhei Yoshida said that Days Gone was supposed to release this year, but the Days Gone delay has, obviously, tossed out that idea.
Despite it coming in the year it was supposed to release, the Days Gone delay isn’t really that surprising; the game had only gotten a few little bits of gameplay (its first bit of gameplay both in the day and nighttime, and two different ways of going through another mission shown at E3 2017) revealed, so if Sony isn’t ready to release it yet it’s probably best to delay it instead.
Sony still has a large number of different Playstation 4 games that are supposed to be coming out this year, including the next God of War game, Insomniac’s Spider Man game, Kingdom Hearts 3, plus the Shadow of the Colossus remastering that came out last month.
Hopefully the year of development time will allow the Days Gone delay to make the game even better, and we’ll be able to see more of the game as the year goes by. We still don’t have a definite release date for when Days Gone actually releases, but we can expect it exclusively on the Playstation 4 and Playstation 4 Pro sometime next year.
