This Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Crafting Guide will tell you all about the new Crafting System and will guide you on how to make the most out of it. Numerous tips and tricks will be provided to ensure that you are ready to tackle the new system and can use it effectively.
Crafting System in Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is quite more complex than before. Although there has been some backlash as to the specifics, there are many new things such as being able to craft your own weapon and being able to upgrade it. There are also other things such as the illusions system which makes the new Crafting System quite a different experience.
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Crafting
The game’s Crafting System will probably be tweaked quite a lot once players start giving their feedback so expect to adapt to the change notes quite often.
Forge is available to you in your Home Base and it is quite different than the one in the first iteration of the game. You can use the Forge to scrap items that you find in missions and salvage other weapons using them. You will also be able to reroll properties and upgrade weapons. So let’s go ahead and take a look at the Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Crafting System in its entirety.
Crafting System And Lootboxes
As you progress through the game, you will be able to unlock Blacksmithing Patterns for each of your weapons and another one for Trinkets, Necklaces, as well as Charms. When it comes to weapons, they are unlocked per character. As for crafting, you can craft white items and upgrade them as you see fit. However, there are a few things to keep in mind.
You can go with crafting if you want a weapon that you like or a weapon having more Power – upgrading a pre-existing weapon does not increase its Power Level. With a new character, you will not have a whole lot of Blacksmithing Patterns so they will not offer much use. However, at around 200 Power, you will have enough Blacksmithing Patterns to craft anything you want.
Crafting Tips and Tricks
Head over to the crafting menu and take a look at the various different items. The first one is Salvage Items. Here you can put in items and salvage their parts to be used for crafting other items. There are quite a few weapons that you can craft only by salvaging different items that you find. Scrap is by far the most important part and other parts are essentially bonuses.
Once you have the items, you can use them to craft items. Put in the items required and craft them to receive your new item instantly. Equipment Properties can be rerolled and then you will get new properties. This is not recommended in most circumstances, as it will be a waste of your resources. You can also re roll your equipment traits but those are really rare so remember to use them wisely. They are always beneficial though, so the re roll cannot go wrong.
You can upgrade your items using the upgrade item page. This is great for your weapons as you keep on levelling up and the enemies keep on getting tougher. Find the weapons that you like and then upgrade them to ensure you are always strong.
You can also extract Weapon illusions which are essentially skins. You can easily remove them from your weapons and then apply them onto other weapons that you feel would look good with that specific illusions. This is purely cosmetic and has no effect on the gameplay.
How To Apply Illusions
As mentioned earlier, you apply Illusions from the Forge. From your initial location, you need to head down towards the left side and navigate to the Forge. Once there, open up the Crafting Tab, click on the ‘Next’ to open up Extract Illusions. Extracting an illusion takes around 20 Scrap.
As for acquiring Scraps, you can do so by destroying unwanted items from the Salvage Screen. Once done, you simply need to hit Apply Weapon Illusion and you should be done.
