The ‘Witch-hunter’ of Warhammer: Vermintide 2, Victor Saltzpyre encourages combat with extraordinary mobility and lightning fast attacks.

The Rapier and Handguns are two of the most powerful weapons in the game both in terms of speed and damage output. The class is for players looking to be on the attacking side of the team but also to be quick while they’re at it.

So Victor Saltzpyre can be considered a hybrid between those offered by Kerillian and Markus.

Careers

Witch Hunter Captain

One of the most powerful perks of this career has to be the insta-kills. These can be carried out by easily targeting over the heads of the enemies to instantly put them down with the sword. This together with the career skill named ‘Animosity’ can be a lethal combo.

Animosity (Career Skill): Pushes back nearby enemies and increases the chances of teammates to perform critical hits for a duration of 6 seconds.

Witch Hunt (Passive Ability): Tagged enemies take higher damage (+20%). Any ally can tag an enemy who will then deal +20% damage from any oncoming source. The effect does not stack.

This class is more suitable for close-quarter combat with lethal blows to bring down the strongest of foes including Chaos Warriors. Talents give you an increased stamina and increase dodge range by 10%. Ammunition gets an increase of 30%.

When dealing with bosses, make sure to aim for the heads as a head-shot will increase damage output by 25%. Death of tag-able enemies will result in a grant of 5 HP to teammates as well as increase chances of critical hits by 20%. Health is gained on death of a boss enemy.

Hunter’s Ardour Walking Judgement Disciplinarian
Melee critical strikes and headshots grant 2 temporary health. Critical headshots restores twice as much. Striking multiple enemies in one swing grants temporary health based on the number of targets hit. Max 5 enemies. Healing yourself with a First Aid Kit or a Healing Draught also heals your nearby allies for 20% of their maximum health. Removes any wounds.
Level 10
Riposte Deathknell Flense
Blocking just as an enemy attack is about to hit causes your next melee attack to be a guaranteed critical hit. Increases headshot damage bonus by 50%. Enemies hit by melee attacks bleed for extra damage. (Multiple instances of this bleed do stack)
Level 15
Mainstay Assassin Enhanced Power
Deal 40% more damage to staggered enemies. Each hit against a staggered enemy adds another count of stagger. Bonus damage is increased to 60% against enemies afflicted by more than one stagger effect. Deal 20% more damage to staggered enemies. Each hit against a staggered enemy adds another count of stagger. Headshots and critical hits instead inflict 40% bonus damage, as do strikes against enemies afflicted by more than one stagger effect. Increases total Power Level by 7.5%. This is calculated before other buffs are applied.
Level 20
Templar’s Knowledge Heretic Sighted Wild Fervour
Witch Hunt causes enemies to take an additional 5% damage. Tagging an enemy increases attack speed by 10% for 15 seconds. Witch-Hunt grants 5% increased critical hit chance to the entire party for 5 seconds when taggable enemies die.
Level 25
Charmed Life Cast Away Always Prepared
Increases dodge range by 20%. Pushing an enemy increases stamina regeneration by 40% for 2 seconds. Increases max ammunition by 30%.
Level 30
I Shall Judge You All! Fervency The Unending Hunt
Applies Witch Hunt to enemies hit by Animosity. Animosity grants Victor guaranteed melee critical strikes for the duration. (Allies no longer receive the critical chance bonus. Victor no longer receives the critical chance bonus on ranged attacks.) Hitting 10 or more enemies with Animosity refunds 40% cooldown.

Bounty Hunter

The class unlocks once the player reaches level 7 in the game. This one focuses more on ranged-damage and the use of that gun.

Locked and Loaded (Career Skill): Allows you to fire shots which can put down multiple enemies in a straight line or deals huge damage to bosses. The shot fired spreads into pallets effecting multiple enemies.

Blessed Shots (Passive Ability): After a time period of 10 seconds, critical hit is guaranteed on ranged shots.

Reload speed and ammo increases (doubles) so keep on switching between the weapons while using this ‘Blessed Shot’ skill to land more critical hits.

Equipping talents will increase reload speed and attack speed by 5%. It will also reduce weapon spread particularly useful for weapons like the crossbow which become quite inaccurate for firing while moving. Other talents will give you abilities like increased revive speed by 30%, Power of critical hits increase by 25% or have Kills retrieve a little bit of health back.

Blood for Money Tithetaker Paymaster
Melee critical strikes and headshots grant 2 temporary health. Critical headshots restore twice as much. Melee killing blows grant temporary health based on the health of the slain enemy. Healing yourself with a First Aid Kit or a Healing Draught also heals your nearby allies for 20% of their maximum health. Removes any wounds.
Level 10
Open Wounds Steel Crescendo Weight of Fire
Critical hits cause enemies to take 20% increased damage for 15 seconds. Does not stack with similar effects. Upon firing the last shot, gain 15% attack speed and 15% power for 15 seconds. Ranged weapon magazine size increases ranged power level by 1% for each ammunition available.
Level 15
Smiter Assassin Enhanced Power
The first enemy hit always counts as staggered. Deal 20% more damage to staggered enemies. Each hit against a staggered enemy adds another count of stagger. Bonus damage is increased to 40% against enemies afflicted by more than one stagger effect. Deal 20% more damage to staggered enemies. Each hit against a staggered enemy adds another count of stagger. Level 20
Blessed Combat Cruel Fortune Prize Bounty
Melee strikes makes up to the next 6 ranged shots deal 15% more damage. Ranged hits make up to the next 6 melee strikes deal 15% more damage. Melee kills reset the cooldown of Blessed Shots. Reduces cooldown on Blessed Shots to 6 seconds. Shots affected by Blessed Shots consume no ammunition.
Level 25
Rile the Mob Dual Action Job Well Done
Ranged critical hits grants Victor and his allies 10% movement speed for 10 seconds. Killing an elite while out of ammunition restores 20% of max ammunition. Melee kills reloads Victor’s ranged weapon (1 bullet/bolt) Killing an elite or special enemy grants 1% damage reduction buff, stacking up to 30 times. Lasts until end of mission or death.
Level 30
Just Reward Double-shotted Return on Investment
Ranged critical hits reduce cooldown of Locked and Loaded by 20%. Can only trigger once every 10 seconds. Modifies Victor’s sidearm to fire two powerful bullets in a straight line. Scoring a headshot with this attack reduces the cooldown of Locked and Loaded by 40%. Modifies Victor’s sidearm to fire two blasts of shield penetrating pellets in a devastating cone. Each kill with the blast increases the amount of pellets in the next blast. (Max 20 additional pellets)

Zealot

Unlocks when level 12 reached, this career will allow you to deal immense amount of damage particularly when you’re closer to your health being depleted out. During low HP, damage output is increased considerably.

Holy Fervor (Career Skill): Allows Victor to charge while gaining a 25% increased attack speed for 5 seconds so you can continue to deliver blows quicker than you can count enemies on screen! Victor can switch between weapons for the charge or use block before charge to charge with the shield.

Fiery Faith (Passive Ability): Power increases by 5% for every 25 health missing. Power increases by 20% when at 1 HP. Heavy attacks cannot be interrupted.

Heart of Iron (Passive Ability): Resists a lethal blow and stay alive for 5 more seconds.

Talents include stamina regeneration, critical hits up by 5% chance and reduction in stun effect. A certain talent will allow you to increase power of hits by 5% on each enemy nearby. Inflicted doesn’t exceed 25 in a single hit.

Health is regained on kills particularly 2 HP is gained from each successive hit. Combine this with ‘Holy Fervor’ (the career skill which increases attack speed by 50%) and you can gain about 6-8 HP over 5 seconds.

Sigmar’s Herald Repent! Repent! Font of Zeal
Damaging multiple enemies in one swing grants temporary health based on the number of targets hit. Max 5 enemies. Melee killing blows grants temporary health based on the health of the slain enemy. Healing yourself with a First Aid Kit or a Healing Draught also heals your nearby allies for 20% of their maximum health. Removes any wounds.
Level 10
Castigate Smite Unbending Purpose
Increases attack speed by 10% while below 50% health. Double effect while below 20% health. Every 5 hits grants a guaranteed critical strike. Critical strikes can no longer occur randomly. Increases power by 5%.
Level 15
Smiter Mainstay Enhanced Power
The first enemy hit always counts as staggered. Deal 20% more damage to staggered enemies. Each hit against a staggered enemy adds another count of stagger. Bonus damage is increased to 40% against enemies afflicted by more than one stagger effect. Deal 40% more damage to staggered enemies. Each hit against a staggered enemy adds another count of stagger. Bonus damage is increased to 60% against enemies afflicted by more than one stagger effect. Increases total Power Level by 7.5%. This is calculated before other buffs are applied.
Level 20
Crusade Holy Fortitude Armour of Faith
Each stack of Fiery Faith also increases movement speed by 5%. Each stack of Fiery Faith also increases healing recieved by 15%. Each stack of Fiery Faith also reduces damage taken by 5%.
Level 25
Devotion Redemption through Blood Calloused Without and Within
Taking damage increases movement speed by 30% for 2 seconds. Getting attacked no longer slows movement speed. Taking damage restores stamina to full. Damage taken reduced by 10%.
Level 30
Faith’s Flurry Feel Nothing Flagellant’s Zeal
Attacks during Holy Fervour increases power by 2% for 5 seconds. Stacks up to 10 times. Health can’t be reduced below 1 for the duration of Holy Fervour. Each hit during Holy Fervour grants a stack up to 10. Each stack reduces the cooldown of Holy Fervour by 5% when the buff fades.
