If the Infinity Stones and the Infinity Gauntlet were not enough, Thanos seems to also be adding a massive broadsword to his personal armory when he invades our world in Avengers: Infinity War.
There was a new series of promotional posters released over the weekend, one of which offered a close look at the Mad Titan and the Black Order. Proxima Midnight, Ebony Maw, Cull Obsidian, and Corvus Glaive are the “children” and close followers of Thanos, ruthless supervillains that have vowed to raze worlds after worlds and force their inhabitants to pay tribute to their master. They all look pretty accurate from the source materials, another reason why the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been greatly appreciated by fans over the past decade.
However, one can hardly look away from the fierce weapon that Thanos is shown wielding in his right arm. It is definitely not the Infinity Sword. It appears to be medium-sized with a blunt edge on one side. If someone out there knows if the weapon is from the comic books, do mention it below in the comments.
Avengers: Infinity War will open in theaters worldwide on May 4, 2018. There are only two more months remaining for anxious fans to wait out. There is the possibility of another trailer dropping during this time. Until then, here is a handy guide to familiarize yourself with the Infinity Stones and where they are all currently located.
For those interested in collectibles, Hasbro will be releasing two sets of action figures for the highly anticipated movie. This includes a bearded Captain America with his new Wakandan shield, Iron Man in all of his glorious armor, Spider-Man in his Iron Spider suit, Proxima Midnight with her trident, and a build-a-figure version of Thanos.
Avengers: Infinity War will be the first of a two-part series. The untitled sequel, presently dubbed Avengers 4, is slated to premiere on May 3, 2019.
