EA is rumored to be preparing a Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 3 announcement sometime soon, according to information apparently unearthed by an enterprising Reddit user. The user apparently saw that a third game would be coming in the advertising blurb of the Plants vs Zombies comic series on Amazon early this morning.
Plants vs Zombies started out as a popular lane defense mobile game, where players would set down plants that could do things like shoot pea bullets, blast zombies with raw sunlight, and eat them whole in order to protect their lawn.
The previous games in the series, Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare and its sequel, gave the series a major graphical upgrade and moved up to 3D environments, along with more gameplay elements such as super zombies and more. If a Plants vs Zombies 3 announcement is actually coming, then there’s no telling how EA will change the game up this time.
According to the blurb, the comic will be bridging the story gap (as little story as there is in this series, at least) between Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 and Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 3, so that’s as much of a confirmation that we’re likely to get for the foreseeable future. If a Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 3 announcement is coming, we’ll likely get it at EA Play this year.
Whether the announcement is true or not, it’s been a while since we’ve had a Plants vs Zombies game. Garden Warfare 2 came out back in 2016, and since then we’ve heard basically nothing from the series. The third game will hopefully be bringing us new flowers, new zombies, and lots of wackiness in general.
Either way, once again, the possibility of a Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 3 announcement is currently just a rumor, so don’t get too excited until it’s actually confirmed.
