The first Wreck-It Ralph (2012) animated movie followed a pair of video game characters journey through a variety of video game eras in search of a purpose beyond what they were originally programmed for. The second “Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2” installment will follow the same characters venture beyond the arcade cabinets to traverse through the internet.
The new teaser trailer, released earlier today, sees Ralph (John C. Reilly) and Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) go online for the first time. The world of the internet, as expected, is full of exciting opportunities such as informative websites like IMDB and retailing outlets like eBay. There are annoying pop-up advertisements, click-bait headlines, and conspiracy theories at every turn as well. The humor and satire in light of the new theme also includes a take on kittens that have overtaken the internet in recent years.
The teaser trailer does not reveal what problems Ralph will be facing this time around but it is evident that he will be using his fists to save his dear friend from whatever new threat comes around. Disney will likely be refraining from dropping any spoilers until the release date later this year.
Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 will open in theaters on November 21, 2018. The first movie made an impressive $471 million in the box office, setting a threshold for the sequel to overcome.
