After the smooth installment of the “Luigi’s Balloon World” free DLC in Super Mario Odyssey last week, we can only wonder – Will we see more Super Mario Odyssey DLC coming to the game? Or is the title as complete as it could be? Nintendo seems to be far from over with Mario’s latest adventure, hoping they can bring more content to the game if any new ideas pop up.
Super Mario Odyssey producer Yoshiaki Koizumi has actually hinted the existence of more upcoming DLC for the game, without giving any promises though. During a talk with Game Informer he said:
“There’s a lot of volume in Super Mario Odyssey. That was a big focus in development: give the player loads to do.”
What we practically can say about this, is that Super Mario Odyssey seems to be having a long way ahead of it, before it is considered complete. It may be a long time before we see some new DLC getting released, but it’s a good thing that this is actually happening. Koizumi stated:
“We pushed ourselves to create as much as we could. I can’t announce anything specifically today, but of course, if there was a really cool idea for us to do, then we would certainly be thinking about DLC.”
In addition to the aforementioned statements, some new Super Mario Odyssey artwork has also been revealed by dataminers and reported by NintendoEverything, showing the locations of new moons. Take a look at the gallery below to find out more:
According to the latest numbers shared by Nintendo, Super Mario Odyssey sales currently stand at 9.07 million units worldwide. Odyssey released back in October 2017 so by December 31, 2017, Super Mario Odessey sold over 9 million units. Undeniably, Mario’s latest adventure is, and will continue being, a console seller for Nintendo Switch.
