It was already known that Doctor Light would be serving as the main antagonist in the upcoming Flashpoint movie in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) but the word on the street now is that there will be a few additional villains on the side as well.
According to a new report from That Hashtag Show earlier today, the time-displacing script includes the likes of Captain Cold, Heatwave, and Killer Frost. The latter is believed to be playing a lead role but there is no confirmation in what capacity. On that note, it is possible that her sane alter ego Caitlin Snow will take up the silver screen before she starts shooting icicles.
There is still a lot that Warner Bros. has not officially confirmed. Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and Batman (Ben Affleck) are rumored to be part of the story. It is also believed that detective Jared Morillo and officer Fred Chyre will be playing supporting roles to help Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) investigate the death of Johnny Quick, the evil counterpart to the Flash in the Crime Syndicate’s universe.
Flashpoint was first released in 2011 by DC Comics and is an important event from the source materials. The Flash travels back in time to prevent the murder of his mother. The journey ends up altering the timeline and creating a new alternate reality that severely impacts many recognizable superheroes and supervillains in the future.
Flashpoint was originally slated for a release in theaters on March 16, 2018, but has since then gone into the shadows with a 2020 release date. The live-action movie adaptation for the DCEU was recently reported to have once asked Ben Affleck to sit in as director. The Batman, though, declined the offer.
