Erik Killmonger, played by Michael B. Jordan, has been hailed as one of the best villains to ever appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date. With Black Panther crushing the box office left and right, the captivating chief antagonist from Wakanda continues to garner praise from the audience. He, however, is now the subject of a very different and interesting debate.
The way the character has been cast in Black Panther brings attention to another iconic villain that almost everyone would be familiar with. There is a uncanny resemblance between Erik Killmonger from the movie and Vegeta from the Dragon Ball franchise. When put side by side, the eerie similarities cannot go unseen.

It is not just the hair, costume, and color palettes. Both Erik Killmonger and Vegeta have an undeniable charisma, sense of pride, and unending thirst for power. They both also hail from a royal bloodline and their fathers were killed. Erik Killmonger ended up gaining power to exact revenge on the throne, while Vegeta strived for more power to overthrow the throne.
In addition, Michael B. Jordan is reportedly a huge fan of anime. Hence, there is the possibility that he had a personal say in his costume design. It is with certainty that if Vegeta was ever to undergo a live-action adaptation, this is as close as his portrayal would get.
The only question now is that who would win in a fight to the death between the two?
Black Panther, directed by Ryan Coogler, is set two years after the assassination of T’Chaka, the ruler of Wakanda, in the events of Captain America: Civil War. The African nation is now in political turmoil and on the brink of war. It released in theaters last week to a stellar reception.
