Everything You Need To Know About Warhammer Vermintide 2 – Release Date, Gameplay, Visuals

We discuss everything that you possibly need to know about the upcoming Warhammer: Vermintide 2 including its release date, gameplay mechanics, new factions, visuals, and more.

If you are a fan of the original Warhammer: Vermintide, we have some good news for you as Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is just across the horizon and we have all the details about the game for you right here.

The second part was initially announced in the first half of 2017 with a teaser trailer but now at this point we have a gameplay trailer as well and many other details about the game. You can see the teaser trailer below:

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 continues the cooperative survival formula from the first game, which was inspired by Left 4 Dead but with rats in it. In the second part, we can once again team up with up to three other friends and take down hordes of Skaven.

Visuals

When it comes to graphics, the game looks amazing. The environments are big and very detailed. As compared to the first game, where the environments and scenes were mostly dark, Vermintide 2 features much more open and brighter areas.

Some of the areas even have daylight and fights seem to be taking place during night and daytime. The developers stated that the second game would remain true to the dark and beautiful atmosphere of the first game while also introducing new and better ideas and experiences.

We are expecting the game to be 4K compatible as well because visuals looks crisp and ready for 4K adaptation.

New Faction

Chaos is a new faction introduced to the world of Warhammer: Vermintide 2. Chaos are huge monsters that are joining the fight along with the rat like faction Skaven for the first time in a Vermintide game. They come equipped with armor and weapons just like the players so they will not be easy to take down.

Both Skaven and Chaos are now working together and they will come together in attack waves with Skaven coming out in numbers and Chaos bringing out the big guns. Coming to bosses, with Chaos now in the mix, we are hoping for some big boss battles as well.

So far, we know of three sub-factions of Chaos namely Warriors, Nurgles and Spawn. Warriors are the frontline armor wearing demons that will the most used by the Chaos faction. They will require persistence to take them down. They will be easily visible in any wave because of their physique.

Nurgles on the other hand will come occasionally dealing some gross-out attacks. The toughest of this lot are the Chaos Spawn. They will come in many shapes and sizes and will be very unpredictable during battles. They will require exceptional teamwork to take them down.

Gameplay

We will see the return of all five hero classes from the original title. These include Witch Hunter, Waywatcher, Empire Soldier, Dwarf Ranger, and Bright Wizard. You can choose your favorite class out of these that suits your gameplay and begin your journey.

Each class represents a specific role such as caster, tank, archer and warrior. TO make it further detailed, there are different career paths for all heroes to further differentiate their classes and make their role more specific.

These career paths are three-branch talent trees, which have abilities and skills for you to unlock as you progress in the game. These skills and abilities will define your career path.

Aside from all these career paths and complex stuff lies the true fun of Vermintide 2 which is rat slaying. The gameplay we fell in love with the first game is all here. Now even better with improved graphics and gameplay elements. The inventory system and loot system has received a major overhaul.

Vermintide 2 also comes with full mod support. As of now, we do not exactly how much detail these mods will be able to offer but so far, we are happy to see that the game supports official mod support.
