Hackers have been making some moves when it comes to the Switch and now they have made an alternative Nintendo Switch launcher. A video was also posted on twitter to show this off and while this is pretty slow right now you can expect regular updates. We have already seen hackers using exploits to run Linux on the Nintendo Switch and it seems that the fun does not stop there.
Hackers have found a Nintendo Switch hardware vulnerability and have found loopholes in order to run an alternative launcher. Just recently a Nintendo Switch exploit was found and hackers claimed that Nintendo would not be able to patch this. While surely Nintendo will do everything in its power to keep this from happening it seems that hackers are not going to stop trying either.
You can check out the video that the hacker posted below:
SciresM had the following to say about the launcher:
Got some good news: sorry: it takes a minute for the lennies. Anyway, I would strongly recommend updating when new firmwares release.
For the time being the Switch hack is only for firmware 3.0.0 and it is highly unlikely that you have not updated already. You can get a device with the older firmware if you look for it. While this is only a start, this is a huge step forward and there will come a day when hackers will be able to pirate games and make them available to the general public.
While that is not something that Nintendo will take lightly keeping in mind all the success that the Nintendo Switch has been getting but we have seen this happen to the Xbox 360 as well as the PS2 in the past so I would not be surprised if the same happens to the Nintendo Switch as well.
Talking about the Switch it seems that Diablo 3 is one of the games that will be coming to the device in early 2019. Already plenty of developers are trying to get their game on the portable console, we have seen how well Doom runs on the Switch and now we are getting word that Diablo 3 will also be coming out for the Nintendo Switch.
