Intel Integrated Graphics Control Panel Updated For Game Optimizations
Intel’s Integrated graphics processors are not known for their performance but, Intel supports these integrated GPUs with new drivers and this time Intel has updated Intel Integrated Graphics Control panel with new drivers for its Integrated GPU.
Intel has rolled latest driver, version 126.96.36.19944, for 6th gen or newer Intel Integrated GPUs and the driver is compatible with Windows 10 64-bit OS. While the driver updates Intel Integrated Graphics Control panel but the headlining game optimization feature is still in beta and currently has a limited number of games.
Currently, the updated Intel Integrated Graphics Control Panel brings optimizations for the following games, however, the list is short.
- Battlefield 1
- Battlefield 4
- American Truck Simulator
- Call of Duty WWII
- Destiny 2
- DOTA 2
- Grand Theft Auto V
- League of Legends
- World of Tanks
Aside from gaming optimizations, the driver brings intelligent power management under maximum load, improved performance for video and more.
Enhanced performance of graphics workloads for 6th Gen Core processors or higher with intelligent power management under maximum load.
Improved performance in video encoding for all codecs.
Power saving optimizations during video playback and UHD gaming is now available on all 7th Gen Core processors and higher.
In related news, Intel Core i9-8950HK mobile processor has been leaked online suggesting that the mobile processor will be unlocked and users will be able to overclock it.
According to the leak, the processor has 6 cores with 12 threads and the processor itself will be unlocked meaning users will be able to overclock the i9. Furthermore, the specs reveal that Core i9-8950HK will have a base clock of 2.9 GHz and 3.9 GHz with the turbo.
We will be testing out the driver version 188.8.131.5244 for Intel Integrated GPU to see how much of a performance boost does this updated control panel brings for the aforementioned games and will report back the results.
