CEMU is a Wii U emulator designed to run Nintendo Wii U games on a PC and now the team behind the widely popular emulator has rolled out CEMU 1.11.4 for everyone to download, this latest version brings games compatibility, some fixes and more.
CEMU 1.11.4 brings compatibility for some games that users weren’t able to run before on the Wii U emulator, these games include Art Academy: Atelier, Wii Party U, Mario Party 10, and Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival.
Apart from the game compatibility version 1.11.4 brings some fixes to the Wii U emulator like reduced memory usage, GamePad rumble fix for XInput, experimental improved compatibility with integrated GPUs, and the addition of IOSU FPD.
CEMU is the same emulator which is capable of running Legend of Zelda: Breath Of the Wild to run at 4K/60 FPS which brings the game to a whole another level considering the game runs at 1600×900 on Nintendo Switch while docked.
While running the game at 4K/60 FPS is definitely impressive but running Zelda: Breath Of The Wild at 4K requires a beefy system with 16 GB RAM, 4 GB of VRAM, Core i5 processor minimum and even then you might see experience some frame drops.
Nintendo’s latest console has been very successful for Nintendo and according to the company, they intend to support it longer than the traditional console cycle.
According to President of Nintendo, Tatsumi Kimishima, Nintendo plans to support Nintendo Switch way past its traditional 5-6 years console cycle.
While this is great but, we might not see any new Nintendo console for a while, however, Nintendo might slightly improve the hybrid console down the line like the Nintendo 3DS XL.
The latest version of CEMU is currently available to download for everyone, however, the developers of the Wii U emulator have noted that the emulator is not intended for general use yet.
