Gigabyte Aero 15X Coffee Lake-H Refresh Coming In March

Intel has significantly upgraded its 8th gen processors with Intel Core i7 and i5 moving to 6 cores from 4 cores and i3 moving to 4 Cores from just 2, also the mobile version, Coffee Lake-H, saw an upgrade and Gigabyte will be rolling out new model of Gigabyte Aero 15X with Intel Coffee Lake-H refresh this year.

The news comes from a Gigabyte technician spotted by a Reddit user that current Gigabyte Aero 15X models with 7th Gen Intel Core Processors has been discontinued and the company plans to roll out a new model with 8th gen Intel Coffee Lake-H refresh later this year.

According to the technician, Gigabyte Aero 15X Coffee Lake-H refresh will roll out in late March or in early April. Gigabyte Aero 15X is equipped with i7-7700HQ and we are sure that the upgrade will also feature an 8th gen i7 processor.

If you are wondering how much of an upgrade Intel’s 8th gen mobile processors are, well according to leaked specs Coffee Lake mobile CPUs are 35% faster compared to the previous generation of processors.

Speaking of the Intel’s 8th gen Coffee Lake processors, the new gen processors have helped Intel to take lead in CPU market for the month of January.

According to the report, Intel has skipped ahead of AMD in CPU market share with the help of its Coffee Lake series of the processors as their availability is better compared to their initial launch.

Also, Ryzen 2 processors from AMD are set to launch in March with Zen 2 following next year. Also, it will be interesting to see how Intel’s Cannon-Lake handles itself when it launches.

Furthermore, Intel has promised hardware fix for Spectre and Meltdown for its upcoming line of processors. According to Intel CEO Brian Krzanich, the company is working on a hardware fix for its next line of processors that will be available in 2019.
