A pair of new Paradox Interactive games are going to be coming to the company’s convention PDXCON this year. Paradox is the developer behind games like Stellaris, Hearts of Iron, Europa Universalis, and Crusader Kings, and is also the publisher of Tyranny, Pillars of Eternity, and other games besides them.
While we don’t know what these games are going to be for the moment, there’s a lot of reason to believe that no matter what they are, they’re going to be just as good as every other Paradox game, and just as addicting besides.
While one game is going to be an actual Paradox-created game (it’s likely not Victoria 3 despite the hope of many gamers that like to play the studio’s historical games), the other game that will be announced at PDXCON is going to be developed by Triumph Studios, a developer that is known for creating the Age of Wonders and Overlord series.
Triumph Studios creating a new game might be pointing to the creation of a new fantasy strategy game, which considering how well-received Age of Wonders 3 was could hopefully turn out very well. However, there’s no sort of hint about what we’re going to be getting from Paradox itself.
The studio is already coming out with two new expansion packs for Stellaris (Apocalypse, along with its Cherryh patch) and Hearts of Iron 4 (Waking the Tiger, focusing on China and Japan along with a number of adjustments for Germany), so there’s no telling what their game will be, whether it will be a historical game like their more well-known titles or something completely different.
Either way, players can likely keep track of what’s announced by following Paradox news on their studio’s official website or by following them on any sort of social media. The two new Paradox Interactive games are going to be announced at PDXCON, which will be going from May 19-20 this year in Stockholm, Sweden.
