Overwatch is having yet another seasonal event, this time for the Lunar New Year, celebrating the start of the Year of the Dog. As always, there are new legendary Overwatch skins as well as a new map for the capture the flag mode that has been introduced last year during the same event. The event is now underway across all platforms, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
In Lunar New Year Event, 6 heroes are getting their own legendary skins to match the celebration’s vibes. This time Genji, Mercy, Zarya, Widowmaker, McCree, and Pharah are the lucky ones, getting a new cool attire to use in-game. Expect a lot of gold details and some bright green and red colors to be added to the mix along with Chinese themed clothing. Take a look at the 6 new legendary skins in the gallery below:
As for the new map, Ayutthaya is a capture the flag environment set in Thailand. It’s actually the first official Overwatch map for CTF and not just a revamp of an existing one. As detailed by Blizzard, the flag can be instantly picked up but will now be dropped when using certain abilities such as Winston’s leap and ties are no longer possible. When tied, the game will now go to the Sudden Death phase where the flag camps will be moved closer to the center so that the gameplay runs much faster.
Along with the aforementioned new content, last year’s Lunar New Year event’s Overwatch skins will also be available for 1000 credits instead of 3000. These include legendary skins for Winston, Mei, Roadhog, Reinhardt, and Zenyatta. Available will be also both last year’s and new highlight intros, emotes, epic skins and more.
Blizzard has also announced that Overwatch is about to receive a major feature, allowing you to change your hero’s skin during the champion selection screen. Furthermore, Hanzo has been reworked with the next one in line for a revamp being Sombra.
