There is a new Hot Toys figure that needs your attention before the much-anticipated premiere night for Black Panther in theaters next week.
The magnificent collectible is modelled after Chadwick Boseman (T’Chala) and boasts an insane amount of details. It stands about 12.4 inches tall and features 32 points of articulation in total. The figure comes with two interchangeable head sculpts, with and without the mask, and four pairs of interchangeable fists, ranging between claws and spears.
The main attraction of this new Hot Toys figure is the “luminous reflective pattern” incorporated into the costume of the Black Panther for the first time by the collectible-sculpting company. These glow in purple with the aid of a specialized LED unit (battery operated) that is included with every order.
In addition to the fine accuracy on every inch of the merchandize, owners will receive a character backdrop and a movie-themed hexagonal figure stand for their displaying needs.
Unfortunately, this new Hot Toys figure will not be accompanying the premiere night next week. The official website states that pre-orders are currently open but the units will begin shipping out in either the fourth quarter this year or early next year.
Black Panther, directed by Ryan Coogler, is set two years after the assassination of T’Chaka, the ruler of Wakanda, in the events of Captain America: Civil War. The African nation is now in political turmoil and on the brink of war.
The movie will open in theaters on February 16 and is expected to debut close to $150 million in the domestic box office. It will be the last release in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before the highly anticipated arrival of Avengers: Infinity War on May 4.
