Intel Coffee Lake Mobile CPUs Are 35% Faster Than Previous Generation Chips
The unreleased Intel Coffee Lake Mobile i7 8850H has been leaked and it appears that the CPU has 6 cores and 12 threads. This chip will be coming out in the upcoming weeks alongside the upcoming Coffee Lake refresh. The increased number of cores and threads will benefit multitasking as well as applications that make use of numerous cores and threads.
The Intel Coffee Lake Mobile i7 8850H features a base clock of 2.6 GHz and is based on the 14nm++ process which should be more efficient as compared to the previous generation and the CPU also comes with 9MB of L3 cache.
While the leak does not give us all the information that we need there have been other leaks that have hinted that the CPU will be able to boost to 4.0 GHz on all cores and 4.3 GHz on a single core. This is pretty impressive for a mobile CPU. You can check out the numbers below:
According to rumors and previous leaks, the chip will have a 45W TDP and will feature Intel 620 HD graphics. While that is well and good AMD is going to be releasing the AMD Ryzen 2400G as well as the 2200G that feature Vega graphics coupled with the Zen cores that allow for better graphics performance and you can check out more information about that here.
AMD Ryzen Mobile is a great option for you to consider and we have already check out the AMD Ryzen 2500U as well as the more powerful 2700U and how well they can runs games. While the performance of these chips is better than Intel integrated graphics they also manage to compete with entry-level graphics cards.
Let us know what you think about the upcoming Intel Coffee Lake Mobile i7 8850H and whether or not this is something that you are looking forward to trying out.
