Call Of Duty is an annual franchise and also a best-selling one with three major studios working on the game, this year its Treyarch’s turn to deliver the next Call of Duty game and rumor has it that the next Call of Duty from Treyarch is going to be Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4.
Treyarch is known for developing the Black Ops games in the Call of Duty franchise and Black Ops is considered to be one of the best Call of Duty games in the franchise. While Treyarch hasn’t announced it yet but it makes sense that the developer will continue with Black Ops sub-series.
However, we are not here to get either get excited or speculate what the rumored Call of Duty will feature but here, we will discuss and list all the things that we want to see from Treyarch’s rumored Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
Everything We Want From Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4
According to the rumor, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will launch for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and interestingly Nintendo Switch. Furthermore, the game will be set in modern times suggesting that the game will ditch the futuristic setting like how Sledgehammer Games did with Call of Duty: WW2.
The game is rumored to feature boots on the ground gameplay and following is what we want from Black Ops 4.
A Battle Royale Mode
PlayerUknown’s Battlegrounds has contributed the most to popularize the Battle Royale genre among the gamers and following that man developers have introduced a Battle Royale Mode to their games Fornite, even in Call of Duty Online.
We would like Treyarch to introduce a Battle Royale mode to its upcoming game with its own spin on the genre and given the rumor suggests that the game will launch for Nintendo Switch, it will be interesting to see how the hybrid console will handle this game mode.
Ditch The Futuristic Setting All-together
Call Of Duty games from Advanced Warfare to Infinite Warfare were criticized for their futuristic setting, jet packs, wall-running and more. Of all the Call of Duty game featuring futuristic setting, Black Ops 3 is considered to the best one.
However, just like how Sledgehammer Games has ditched the futuristic setting with last year’s Call Of Duty WW2 we would also like Treyarch to set the game in Vietnam Era like the original Black Ops or modern times like the Modern Warfare series with the emphasis on “Boots on The Ground” gameplay.
Personally, I would like to see the game to be set in a Modern setting with an excellent single-player campaign.
A Revamped Zombies Campaign
Treyarch was the one that introduced the Zombies mode in Call of Duty World At War and continued the story with the zombies mode in Black Ops, Black Ops 2, and Black Ops 3 and the zombies mode is now part of every Call of duty Title since Black Ops with the exception of Extinction mode in Call of Duty: Ghosts.
This is why we want Treyarch to be the one to reinvent the Zombies formula make something incredible out of it so that players can enjoy the good old zombie killing spree with a new twist.
A Worthy Successor Of Black Ops’ Singleplayer Campaign
For me Call of Duty: Black Ops’ singleplayer is the best singleplayer campaign among all the Call of Duty singleplayer offerings. The Twist near the end of the game regarding Mason imagining Reznov throughout the game was amazing.
While Treyarch continued the story arch of Black Ops series, which interestingly starts with Call of Duty: World At War, but the sequels couldn’t match the singleplayer campaign of the first Black Ops.
What we want is Treyarch to offer a singleplayer campaign that is a worthy successor to Black Ops’ singleplayer campaign that immerses players with not only the set pieces but also the story.
New Online Modes
Call of Duty is primarily a multiplayer title featuring Team deathmatch, search and destroy mode and more. Every Call of Duty game features more or less the same game modes with the exception of Hardpoint which was introduced in Black Ops 2.
Hardpoint became very popular among games and this game mode was started to be included in competitive matches. However, Since then, no Call of Duty title hs featured an online game mode which was as successful or popular as Hardpoint and that is why we want Treyarch to introduce a new game mode to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 to keep things fresh and interesting and giving the players a reason to grab the next title.
A Nintendo Switch Version
Nintendo Switch has been very successful and has been getting a lot of third-party support and we would like to see a Nintendo Switch version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 taking advantage of the HD Rumble and more.
With Doom already being ported to Switch, we believe that the hybrid console will be able to handle the Black Ops 4. However, the only problem with the Switch version will be the frame rate as Doom itself has a hard time to keep a steady 30 FPS on the hybrid console and Activision above all else prioritized 60 FPS for its Call of Duty titles.
Cosmetic Only Supply Drops
Supply Drops in Call of Duty were criticized a lot as they included weapon variants with altered/increased stats that gave players an advantage over other players who had the same weapon without altered stats.
Imagine having to grind for an AR gun and you finally get it, only to find out that another player has the altered version of that same weapon with increased stats.
Call Of Duty titles have always featured Prestige System which essentially showcases for how long a player has been playing a game and that is why we want a Ranked system in the rumors Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 to make a competitive environment and games like League of Legends, DotA 2, Rainbow Six: Siege, CS: GO, and Overwatch already feature a ranked system.
That is all we want from the Black Ops 4. Would you like something to add? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
