Battalion 1944 Tweaks Guide – How to Boost FPS, Run Battalion on Low-End PCs

This Battalion 1944 Tweaks Guide will tell you about multiple tweaks which will ensure that your framerate improves substantially. This way, you will be able to focus on the game entirely and not be bogged down by your crumbling and dusty hardware. So let’s go ahead and take a look at what you need to do in order to increase the performance of Battalion.

Battalion 1944 is still in early access and is very poorly optimized. For this reason, getting a good framerate can be very difficult. Framerate is everything in the competitive gaming genre so having the right setup around you will be crucial for you to be successful in the game.

Battalion 1944 Tweaks Guide – How to Increase FPS

As far as the video settings are concerned, you should try to play around with them and see which one gives you the best quality and a high framerate together.

Having everything set to the lowest setting will probably not be best as increasing the setting of a few options may have no impact due to the bottleneck occurring on a component which is not affected by that setting.

Now, we will tell you a few tips and tricks which will help your framerate when you play Battalion. These tips and tricks are not immediately obvious so you might be surprised at how big some little changes make.

How to Improve FPS in Battalion

The first thing is something you can try in all of your games. Go to task manager, locate the process of Battalion 1944 and then set its priority to high by right-clicking the process.

You can also try to limit your max FPS in the game as it will smoothen out your movement and allow you to have a more enjoyable experience. If you fail to run the game smoothly, then decrease your FPS Cap by 10-20 and then try the test all over again.

Disable DPI Scaling
This is quite easy, and quite simple. Go to your Battalion executable in your Steam directory and then open the properties. After this, go to the Compatibility Tab and then check the “Disable display scaling on high DPI settings” option. You may notice a small boost in FPS.

Close the Launcher
This is another thing that people do not realize especially if you have a computer with low RAM is that closing your launcher will allow you to get a small FPS boost. Do not worry, as closing the launcher has absolutely no impact on your actual game and is just there for your convenience.

Texture Streaming
This is the one that surprised me the most. I initially thought (as many of you may have or will) that the Texture Streaming option would actually decrease the overall performance of the game.

However, upon further research, I found out that it actually does a lot of work and ends up increasing your FPS by quite a few in most maps of the game. This tweak is probably one of the most effective for extreme beginners who do not have any knowledge of the game at this point.
