The first, highly anticipated trailer for Westworld Season 2 was released during the broadcast of Super Bowl LII this weekend to reveal that the Hosts have begun taking over the theme park.
The new footage is narrated by Dolores Abernathy, played by Evan Rachel Wood, who highlights the beauty and attraction of the world she thought was her home. The train of thought takes a sinister turn as she then begins talking about how everything was a lie. This is backed by android cattles ramming into scientists and researches back at headquarters. She further promises that her–their–world will be reborn into a new home for the machines once all living persons, who previously thought of themselves as masters, are taken down.
Westworld Season 2 will continue right after the Hosts gained sentience and realized their actual origins. The natural yearning is always for freedom and the truth results in an uprising. The new trailer confirms that there will be much violence and chaos as the humans attempt to take control, while the androids rebuild their world.
It was a couple of weeks back when a member from the visual effects team confirmed that production has finally concluded for all ten episodes. The footage is now in the hands of the post-production team for final touches.
The premiere date was assumed to be somewhere in Spring 2018. The new trailer from the Super Bowl LII narrows down that release window to April 22.
The highly acclaimed television series will return with most of the original cast; starring Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Robert Ford, Jeffrey Wright as Bernard Lowe, Ed Harris as Man in Black, Thandie Newton as Maeve Millay, and James Marsden as Teddy Flood.
