It has been learned that Stan Lee was rushed to a hospital this week after falling ill at home on the night of Wednesday. The legendary comic book writer was reportedly suffering from shortness of breath and an irregular heartbeat, and was taken to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
According to an update provided to TMZ by an official spokesperson, Lee is doing much better now and in stable condition. However, he will be staying in the hospital for a few more days for further monitoring by the doctors as a safety precaution.
Lee recently celebrated his 95th birthday this past December. The natural aging process has meant struggles for his health. He had to cancel several appearances due to that in recent years, had a pacemaker implanted, and was hospitalized back in 2015 as well.
However, despite his weakened state, the profound industry icon has always been open to an active schedule. Lee still manages to make the premiere nights for movie adaptations on his characters, and invade conventions to surprise fans whenever possible.
Lee has created some of the most popular characters in comic books in history. The list runs long and features the likes of Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Black Widow, Ant-Man, Thor, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and the X-Men.
We pray that he will continue to get better and drop in for the night Black Panther officially opens in theaters on February 16. There is also Avengers: Infinity War coming right after that.
