Fears Have Come True, Red Dead Redemption 2 Has Been Delayed
We’ve heard the rumors but didn’t think they are true. Rockstar has delivered some discomforting news today regarding Red Dead Redemption 2. The game, which was scheduled for a Q1/Q2 release up until now, is delayed until October. The company announced that they need more time to polish the game and have revealed some new screenshots to sweeten the taste of that news.
According to a press release by Rockstar, Red Dead Redemption 2 will be officially released in October 2018, moving its launch window 3-6 months later than it was expected. If you are a hardcore fan of its predecessor and couldn’t wait to see it hit the shelves then you have every right to be disappointed today. Rockstar’s apology letter to the Red Dead Redemption fans reads:
We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologise to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.
We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.
With thanks, Rockstar Games
However, the company has revealed some new screenshots of the game, showing its graphics state and some of the characters you’ll encounter. Truth be told, with a first glance the screenshots seem to be taken straight out of a 4K Wild West movie so what we’re about to see in Red Dead Redemption 2 will probably be a visual masterpiece.
