Sony has been supporting its flagship console, PlayStation 4, with new system updates that bring new features and stability to the overall system and currently Sony is conducting a closed beta for the upcoming PS4 system update 5.50 which will bring super-sampling to PS4 Pro.
While the beta for PS4 system update 5.50 is not live in some countries but some countries have access to beta and users have noticed that this system update brings super-sampling AA option for PS4 Pro.
For those who don’t know, Super Sampling is a technique that renders the game at a higher resolution than the monitor’s native resolution and displays the game on monitor’s native resolution increasing the image quality in the process. However, Sony has warned that it might reduce the game’s performance in some instances.
“Supersampling Mode Can Improve Image quality of some games on a TV with 2K resolution or lower.
Results may differ depending on the games. In some games, image quality may not improve or the frame rate may change.”
This supersampling option might prove useful for those with 1080p screens as it will drastically improve the image quality making the experience much more immersive.
