It will be another couple of months before Tokyo Ghoul Season 3, titled Tokyo Ghoul:re in the dark fantasy manga series, officially premieres on all associated networks.
The wait will undoubtedly be difficult for fans that have been following the critically acclaimed anime show. Unfortunately, the level of patience will have to be further tested with the latest casting announcement.
Shuu Tsukiyama, the infamous former member of the Ghoul Restaurant with an obsession for his great taste in food, will be returning in the upcoming season. He will be voiced by none other than Mamoru Miyano from Death Note, Soul Eater, and Vampire Knight.
The other confirmed cast features the voices of Natsuki Hanae as Haise Sasaki, Kaito Ishikawa as Kuki Urie, Yuma Uchida as Ginshi Shirazu, Natsumi Fujiwara as Tooru Mutsuki, and Ayane Sakura as Saiko Yonebayashi.
The direct sequel will take place two years after the events from the previous season. Ken Kaneki, the lead character from the original anime show, now goes by the name of Haise Sasaki and has lost most of his memories. The amnesia was brought on after sustaining permanent brain damage during his deadly encounter with Kisho Arima.
He has ended up joining the CCG (Commission of Counter Ghoul) and also been promoted to leader of his own Quinx Squad that comprises members similar to himself–humans who have become half ghoul.
Tokyo Ghoul Season 3 will premiere sometime in April and should feature the same amount of 12 episodes from the previous two seasons.
