Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk shared an idea for a flamethrower on Twitter but little did he know that Randy Pitchford would actually use the idea for his next game, Borderlands 3. According to Randy Pitchford, the next Borderlands game will feature Musk’s flamethrower, and he’s “super serious” about it.
Elon Musk replied to Pitchford and gave the go-ahead for including the flamethrower in Borderlands 3. Here are the series of Tweets between the two legends.
Elon – I’m going to add this to our next Borderlands game. Super serious. Let me know if you want to write the flavor text. You may have already done so – we’ll just lift it from one of your tweets.

When the zombie apocalypse happens, you’ll be glad you bought a flamethrower. Works against hordes of the undead or your money back!

The next Borderlands game hasn’t been revealed but we know that the title is under development. The game is expected to be revealed sometime this year. It is to be noted that the next Borderlands may not necessarily be called “Borderlands 3.”
While there isn’t any news lately but a recent investor’s meeting suggested that the game is going to release sometime between October 2018 and September 2019.
The plot is unclear at the moment but the return of Tiny Tina is confirmed. She will be older than the last time we saw her and she’ll have a much bigger role to play this time around. You can check a tech demo for the next Borderlands game below.
As far as the platforms go, the title will be multiplatform – PS4, Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox One S, and PC.
