HP was the first to release a laptop that featured AMD Ryzen Mobile chips and now we have the Acer Swift 3 that is powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 2700U. The laptop will be coming out next month but you can pre-order one if you are interested in getting one of these new Ryzen Mobile powered notebooks.

The AMD Ryzen 7 2700U is a powerful chip as compared to other chips that are available on the market. In theory, the 2700U should be able to perform similar to GT 1300 but you can check out how well the chip runs Battlefield 1 below. You can click here to pre-order the Acer Swift 3.
While the AMD Ryzen 7 2700U does not run the game at 60 FPS you can note that it is more powerful as compared to what Intel HD graphics can muster up. All things considered, these chips are pretty great. The Acer Swift 3 starts at $750. For the money, you get the AMD Ryzen 7 2700U with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
You can also opt for more storage but you will need to pay more for it and getting the 512 GB model will cost you $950. This is SSD storage that we are talking about so you can see why it is expensive. Having that said, the SSD should help you get things up and running much faster as compared to traditional hard drives.
While the pricing of the Acer Swift 3 is similar to the HP Envy X360 you do get the better chip inside and double the storage so the Acer laptop is better value for money if you take the hardware into consideration.
