E3 2018 is another year of the biggest showcasing of game products lead by the industrial giants like Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Ubisoft, EA, etc. Every year, video game fans squeal with delight as new titles are announced and more information is given on already announced ones, among hardware and consoles. E3 keeps getting bigger and bigger each year with lots of surprise reveals. Here’s a little run down on the games that are already expected to appear at E3 2018:
Shadow of The Tomb Raider
The latest installment in the Tomb Raider series was leaked in May 2016, i.e. leaked from the laptop of a rather un-attentive marketing guy that was left opened at Montreal subway, to be in development and it was rumored to either have the Mayan or Aztec setting. If rumors are to be believed then it is the perfect time for this to be the big E3 2018 reveal by Square Enix since their last AAA title Deus Ex: Mankind was released 18 months ago.
The Last of Us Part 2
With the excitement and appeal going off the charts since the latest trailer revealed in Paris Games Week 2017, fans are waiting impatiently for more news, plot information or even a glimpse of gameplay of The Last of Us Part 2.
Now that it’s confirmed that the game will exclusively launch for PS4 in Early 2019 (thanks to an interview given to Argentinian radio station Vorterix by the composer of the game Gustavo Santaolalla), it’s highly expected that Sony will have something up its sleeve regarding the title.
Halo 6 is a fan-favorite that is sure to make an appearance at E3 2018. It was expected at last year’s E3 show and then didn’t show up but now it is fully expected since the series is known to take up a 3-year development cycle. Besides, Microsoft needs console selling titles especially with PS4 turning out titles like rabbits. Be sure to keep an eye out for Halo 6.
With rumors in the air that Fable 4 is likely getting a reboot under the helm of Forza Horizon dev studio – Playground Games, it is highly likely that this will be Microsoft’s surprise reveal.
We’ve waited this long for Cyberpunk 2077 to at least signal that it is very much alive. Fans have their eyes peeled for at least some sort of gameplay or news. However, there have been recent reports that an official gameplay trailer will reveal at E3 2018 and a more extensive gameplay will be shown to journalists in a closed meeting. Do take this with a pinch of salt, though!
Resident Evil 2 Remake
The remake of Resident Evil 2 is the most asked title that fans urge Capcom to make. With Capcom recently hinting about it on social media, it is more than probable that a detailed gameplay will be revealed at E3 2018, if only the game isn’t released before June.
Devil May Cry 5
There is not the slightest chance that Devil May Cry 5 will not be either teased or have its gameplay trailer revealed at E3 2018 since the Devil May Cry: HD Collection releasing March then the fifth installment is a long time coming.
Metroid Prime 4
Nintendo had confirmed the development of Metroid Prime 4 in E3 2017 and now with Metroid Prime’s development studio Retro Studios is working on an untitled project, it’s safe to say that there will be revealed at E3 either during Nintendo’s livestream or Nintendo Direct.
Around the time of E3 2018, the 2016 reboot of DOOM will have made its two-year mark. Given the success of this title, it is highly likely that the second installment will be announced at E3 since quite recently, Bethesda has had a series of flops under its wing.
Star Wars Game by Respawn
With no sign of the Uncharted-style Star Wars Game since Visceral’s closing down by EA, the third-person action-adventure Star Wars game being developed by Respawn Entertainment should peak with a reveal or gameplay trailer. Moreover, EA needs a Star Wars title to compensate for the sad affair that was Battlefront 2 so a new Star Wars title should make its way to E3 2018.
E3 2018 will take place during June 12-14 at the Los Angeles Convention Center and will include conferences, booths, and keynotes on the show floor.
