Red Dead Redemption 2 Release Date Possibly Leaked via Amazon
According to a listing on Amazon, one of the most anticipated game sequels of all time; Red Dead Redemption 2 might be hitting shelves earlier than you might think as the online retailer might have leaked Red Dead Redemption 2 Release Date.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel to Rockstar Games 2010 smash-hit Red Dead Redemption that was released on the last-gen PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles. It was released to much critical acclaim and was a huge financial success for Rockstar Games, selling over 15 million copies and winning many games of the year accolades.
The gritty western follows the story of outlaw Arthur Morgan, a member of the notorious Dutch van der Linde gang as he and his gang “rob, fight, and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive”, as worded by Rockstar Games in a statement.
Red Dead Redemption 2 release date according to the listing on Amazon is July 12th, 2018.
Though, you should hold your horses because the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date is only mentioned on the Mexican Amazon site and no other countries make any note of it.
This can only mean one of two things; either Mexican Amazon made a huge slip-up and accidentally leaked the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date or that is was just placed there for the sake of it.
This practice is sometimes referred to as keeping a ‘placeholder’ and is a common practice among most online retailers.
However, assuming the release date is correct; that would make Red Dead Redemption 2 possibly the biggest game release of this year. And this in a year that’s filled with sequels from well-known and established franchises ranging from The Last Of Us 2, God of War 4 and Crackdown 3 among many others.
The date does fall in line with Rockstar Games official statement that the game would “launch Spring 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One”.
But considering how the game has faced numerous delays, with the game originally slated to release in autumn 2017.
Rockstar Games claimed that it wants to deliver the “best experience possible” for gamers and said in a statement after announcing the delay that they were “very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready”.
It’s safe to say that with Rockstars Games brilliant track record of publishing critically acclaimed games like their massively popular 2013 Grand Theft Auto 5 that we don’t need to worry about quality.
Do you think Rockstar Games will keep their word and release in Spring 2018? Or should we be expecting yet another delay? Let us know in the comments below.
