People have been stuck with Z370 motherboards for some time now, which are of no use if you own an Intel Coffee Lake CPU with a locked multiplier but now we are getting word of the new wave of mainstream Intel Coffee Lake CPUs, the Core i3-8300 and Core i5-8500.
According to new listings, these CPUs will be coming out on February 14th and if that is indeed the case then the mainstream B360/H370 and H310 motherboards will be coming out to accompany them as well. Having that said, you should take this information with a grain of salt as this release date has not been confirmed by Intel.
Mainstream Intel Coffee Lake CPUs Coming February 14
The upcoming Mainstream Intel Coffee Lake CPUs will costs between 51 to 264 USD depending on the SKU that you opt for and you will be glad to know that even the Pentium G5000 series CPUs will not feature 4 core and 4 threads. These chips will come with 4MB of cache and the clock speeds will vary from 3.7 GHz to 3.9 GHz.
Celeron G4920 and G4900 will be the cheapest Intel Coffee Lake CPUs that you can buy and will feature 2 cores and 2 threads much like the core i3 CPUs of the past. You can check out the listings below:
The Intel i5-8600 non-K SKU will also be coming out which will be a bit cheaper than the K version. Having that said the wait for mainstream motherboards is almost at an end. Stay tuned for more information regarding these motherboards and upcoming Intel Coffee Lake CPUs.
