Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay Trailer Gets the Band Together Again
There is a new animated movie inbound for Suicide Squad that will be the first story-based adaptation of the nefarious team of villains. The previous animated release of Batman: Assault on Arkham in 2014 did feature the Suicide Squad but that was set in the universe of the dark knight. “Hell to Pay” will go through the origins once again but will be independent to the anti-hero brand this time around.
With the clarification out of the way, here is the new trailer released by Warner Bros. earlier today. Take note that we are in for an R-rated animated experience, with Christian Slater leading the voice cast.
According to the official blurb, there is a powerful mystical object that the government needs to retrieve. The top secret “Task Force X” formed by Amanda Waller for this mission will feature Deadshot, Killer Frost, Harley Quinn, Bronze Tiger, Copperhead, and Captain Boomerang. However, they are not the only ones seeking to posses the object. Vandal Savage is also on the same quest and will fill the role of main antagonist in the movie.
Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay was officially announced at San Diego Comic-Con International last year. It is scheduled for release in Spring 2018 and will pave the way to the live action sequel, Suicide Squad 2, sometime next year. While the original flick, with the blessings of Will Smith and Margot Robbie, did exceptionally well in the box office, the fan-base was pretty divided on the take. We can hope that Warner Bros. took all of that feedback into consideration when it started shooting last year.
