So it seems that the highly anticipated Zack Snyder cut of Justice League won’t be hitting the surface. Not anytime soon. Not ever. Unless, just one deleted scene covers it all. Now, that’s highly unlikely.
It’s been confirmed that the Justice League blu-ray is coming with only one deleted bonus scene, like a giant middle finger to all the fans’ calls. From a group of protestors outside WB Headquarters to that one petition which was so emotionally published to make sure that Zack Snyder’s marvel sees the light of the day- all efforts lost.
Justice League was credited solely to original director Zack Snyder, who left the production 8 months before the film hit theaters owing to a personal tragedy. Justice League was considerably modified by Joss Whedon, who deleted a number of long sequences, cut out many subplots and supporting characters, plus he substituted the original score.
Although, the Justice League producer said that Joss Whedon’s contribution was a mere 15-20% but the humorous transition from Snyder’s dark take on DCEU is openly telling a different story.
On the other hand, it won’t even be a world-wide release. This Justice League Blu-ray as well as DVD will only be available at Walmart since it’s getting released as a Walmart exclusive. So any hopes to see the acclaimed fifteen minute footage, that was shot by Zack Snyder and then cut from the final release, are right out of the window.
Justice League is expected to be released digitally in February 2018. No Blu-ray and DVD release date has been announced yet, but it’s expected to hit shelves in March 2018.
