The star-studded cast of characters in Avengers: Infinity War and its untitled sequel will amount to more than what we have been led to believe.
It was a couple of years back when directors Joe and Anthony Russo teased the total number of characters to be about 67 in total. Chris Hemsworth, who wears the mantle of Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, clarified that figure recently to be much more.
“There are 76 cast members in these two Avengers films,” Hemsworth told USA Today. “They will be the biggest films of all time, far bigger than my character. It’s a conversation for further down the road, if it was going to happen.”
Avengers: Infinity War is just a few months away from hitting theaters worldwide. The highly anticipated release has been building up for more than a decade now, and it was always known that the finale would feature the main cast members from each of the past independent movies. To put more light on that, co-star Anthony Mackie recently recalled a scene where he, as Falcon, was alongside 40 superheroes from the Marvel franchise at the same time.
Avengers: Infinity War is scheduled for release on May 28. Some of the profound cast members include Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Anthony Mackie as the Falcon, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Tom Holland as Spider-Man, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, Chris Pratt as Star Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Vin Diesel as Groot, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and Josh Brolin as Thanos.
The story will then continue with the fourth installment, presently dubbed as simply Avengers 4. It is slated to arrive in early 2019.
