Sony has constantly been rolling out PS4 System Updates since its launch to make the console experience better and now Sony Interactive Entertainment seems to be ready to roll out PS4 System Update 5.50 but, before it is released for the public a PS4 System Update 5.50 beta will take place and beta signups are already open.
Players can register for PS4 System Update 5.50 beta until January 23. However, there is a catch, those who are interested in signing up for beta must be PlayStation Plus or PlayStation Now subscribers.
Registration for Japan is currently live and beta registrations for North America, and Europe will go live at a later time.
However, nothing is known what PS4 System Update 5.50 will be adding or bringing to the system, we will know for sure once the firmware update goes live for all PS4 systems.
In related news, Sony has no plans to abandon its virtual reality headset PSVR as the company has revealed that PSVR games will increase by 80% in 2018.
According to the company, there are 150 PSVR games in the market and this number will increase to 280 by the end of this year.
According to Vice President of marketing for Sony, Asad Qizilbash, Sony is “Super Focused” on PSVR and intends to double its efforts to bring “some really good games” to the virtual reality headset.
Furthermore, Sucker Punch’s upcoming title, Ghost Of Tsushima, might launch in 2018. The hint comes from Sony’s latest CES 2018 trailer.
The trailer showcases games, movies, and hardware which are to launch in 2018. Interestingly the trailer also includes Ghost of Tsushima which might indicate that the game might launch in 2018.
Ghost of Tsushima is a PlayStation exclusive in development at Sucker Punch and is set in medieval Japan and no release window has been announced for the game.
