Splatoon 2 Gets New Museum Map And Weapon, Next Splatfest Event Available

Months after its release, Splatoon 2 is now actually starting to feel like a decent sequel to its famous predecessor. Since November, Nintendo is doing some major updates on the game, giving it more content such as a new mode, maps, and weapons. Now, Splatoon 2 is getting a new map called Shellendorf Institute along with a cool Dapple Dualies Noveau Weapon.

The Shellendorf Institute has just been added to the game and, as Nintendo stated on Twitter, is a prestigious museum that just turned into an ink-flinging battleground. As you can see from the pictures below, the main stage features a giant skeleton of a sea monster in the middle and has a variety of displays available in the surrounding area.

Furthermore, there’s a new weapon for you to pick up in-game named the Dapple Dualies Noveau weapon, which is an entirely new addition to the game and include the Toxic Mist sub-weapon and Ink Storm special.

Apart from the aforementioned content, Splatoon 2 is also having a new Splatfest. In case you don’t know, the Splatfest is a this or that event in the game where you have to make a decision between two choices for example “do you prefer vampires or werewolves” and so on. This month’s event wants you to choose between action vs comedy movies.

The first Splatfest of 2018 is almost here! The question being decided is for movie lovers and aficionados: do you prefer comedies or action movies? That’s right, it’s side-splitters vs. explosions. Jokes vs. adrenaline. Slapstick vs. fight scenes! (And no, you can’t choose “action-comedy”). The Splatfest runs January 12 (Fri) 8:00 pm PT through January 13 (Sat) 8:00 pm PT.

In the future, the developers intend to bring the Arowana Mall map from Splatoon in its sequel in February but we may see some more action if the rumors about another Nintendo Direct coming soon are proven to be true.
